In many households, Brussels sprouts often find themselves relegated to the back of the refrigerator, overshadowed by more popular veggies. Initially, I was one of those cooks, frequently opting for the usual array of side dishes, such as broccoli or green beans. However, a desire to break free from this regular routine led me to explore the unique flavors and health benefits of Brussels sprouts.

Brussels sprouts are indeed a nutritious choice, rich in vitamins C and K, and packed with fiber. Their nutritional profile is impressive, making them an excellent addition to any meal.

What was once seen as a bland or unappealing vegetable has the potential to delight taste buds, even among the most discerning eaters. The key often lies in the method of preparation. With proper cooking techniques, Brussels sprouts develop a crispy exterior and a tender interior, enhancing their natural flavor. Seasoned with garlic and Parmesan, they can elevate any meal, bringing excitement and charisma to the table.

The Step by Step Cooking Guide

Start by trimming the stem ends and slicing each sprout in half lengthwise; this ensures they cook evenly and allows the seasoning to penetrate. Discard outer leaves.

Next, incorporate avocado oil, seasonings, panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese into the Brussels sprouts, mixing them in thoroughly.

Arrange the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet to ensure even roasting.
